Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve never rented before, what is the process?

First, you need to get in touch by emailing or calling us (we will have online booking for the 2023 season). Once your item is booked, you will need to pick it up between the hours of 9:00 am - 6:00 pm. We are not located at a storefront, so you will come to our house. Park beside the JOJO Adventure Rentals trailer and we will meet you. When you arrive we will sign off on the rental contract and waiver, complete the payment and give you a brief tutorial about how to use the equipment you have rented.

Can I cancel if the weather is bad?

Do not stress if it is pouring rain or gusting 100km/hr winds. We will accept day of cancellations due to weather. If you have paid a deposit you will be refunded using the same payment method. All other cancellations need to be made 24 hours in advance.

How do inflatables work?

Technology has come a long way! The inflatables are incredibly stable (when pumped to the recommended PSI), and the uninflated size is similar to a hockey bag so you do not need a truck to transport them. We do not inflate them for you but you will be provided with a high-efficiency manual pump that has a pressure gauge attached. Each rental comes with a PFD, paddle, pump, and carrying bag.

I’m running late OR I broke something… what do I do?

We really appreciate honesty, but you may get hit with a fee. Because of the time required to clean and dry the gear if rentals are not returned by 6:00 pm you will be charged a late fee (50% of the rental fee). If you can’t return that day, we will charge you an extra day’s rental. If something gets broken (punctured, scratched, snapped) you will be responsible for the fees to repair (up to and including the retail price of the item). This last one also goes for lost equipment.

Where should I go?

We recommend checking out our “Where to explore” tab. It has many of the lakes in our listed with a difficulty rating attached. We do not recommend taking our equipment on rivers as the water levels are difficult to predict and can be dangerous. Our equipment is designed for open water paddling and not intended for use on rivers. If you have any questions please let us know!
